A Few New Cards
I wanted to use a set from the new mini catalogue while using a new colour combo. I chose the Live Your Dreams Set which I think has a really useful range of stamps in it. Cardstock is Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant with Pumpkin Pie DS Paper and a smidge of Apricot Appeal. I used the blackboard technique by stamping the flower in Whisper White ink the using the Stampin' Pastels to colour the stamped flower with Pink Passion, and Pumpkin Pie. Pumpkin Pie ink on the butterfly and I used the 1 1/4" and 1 3/4" Circle Punches too.
This a nice valentines card I got the inspiration for this one here http://meandmistamps.blogspot.com/2009/01/mojo-monday-sketch-68.html but I changed it quite a bit. Now that I look at the two of them together mine looks a bit plain but I definately like my colour combo.
Colours are Sage Shadow, Pale Plum, Perfect Plum and Rose Red and Very Vanilla. The tag feature was created using the 1 1/4" and 1 3/4" Circle Punches
cut in half I stapled a folded piece of Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon to finish it off.
The stamp set is A Happy Heart which was an absolutely must have set for me. I fell in love. And I've used it a lot too which is great.
Anyway I will try to keep this blog up to date but I have just started at TAFE full time so balancing that and the family well, we'll see how much spare time I have. I would hate for my hobbies to recieve any less attention but...
So all going well I will post again soon. :)

Crochet bags
I have been learning how to crochet for a while now and I thought I'd put up a few things that I have done recently. My little niece likes her mummys handbags a lot so I thought I would make her a couple for her own.
I thought I'd start with something simple, this is a pattern I got out of a book from the library but really if you know basic crochet you wont even need a pattern, really easy but good for a 1 yr old to carry around.

I had said I would post more Christmas cards, so even thought Christmas is over I thought I'd quickly add a few more Christmas things before moving on. I have a new fav colour combo which is Bayou Blue, Soft Sky and River rock. These colours look great together.
Cardstock: Bayou Blue, River Rock, Whisper White, Handsome Hunter, Bashful Blue
Ink: Ballet Blue, Handsome Hunter, Whisper White
Stamp Sets: Lovely as a Tree, Itty Bitty Borders (Retired), So Many Sayings (Hostess)
Techniques: Embossing, Tearing and Sponging
Accessories: Bashful Blue Brads, White Embossing Powder
I used the Big Deal Alphabet in Rose Red in on Whisper White. Priceless wheel in Wild Wasabi ink on W/Wasabi cardstock. Layered on to Purely Pomegranate, I left a space at the top for the W/Wasabi ribbon to go through and used the slit punch for the hole for the ribbon. A neat little bow on each side and finished! It looks much better hanging up than on my old table.

Cupcakes galore
I made these cupcakes for my sister-in-laws baby blessing. I used a really good recipe -Old Fashioned Chocolate Cupcakes - found at http://cupcakeblog.com/ and then iced them with buttercream icing. Really the recipe is delicious and I'm not really the cake eating type. Then I made up some modelling paste dyed pink and cut out little pink flowers. I stuck the silver cachous onto the flower using a tiny bit of icing as a glue.
I was given this cupcake stand for my birthday last year and it is quite lovely too.
And here is a close up.
Thanks for looking.

It's begining to look a lot like Christmas
Well I've only put up one christmas card post so far but Christmas is coming up soon so here's another. Ta Da!

This card uses Garden Green Cardstock as the base and is layered with Real Red and Wild Wasabi. How did I ever manage without Wild Wasabi? For the baubles I used the Priceless stamp set in Gold Ink on Night of Navy Cardstock. Gold cord is used for the loops, sadly this product has retired. And finished with a sentiment from Many Merry Messages , a set I am glad I got after many ummings and ahhings, stamped with Night of Navy ink.
You'll probably see quite a few more christmas cards in the next month. I know I have quite a few to send out.
